Blue Monday 2024

The festivities of Christmas and New Year's Eve have come to an end and it won't be long before Blue Monday.

If returning to work following the break over December is proving to be a challenge (especially with the cold rainy weather) you're not alone.

This year, Blue Monday falls on January 15th.

Whilst it may be known as the “most depressing day of the year”, Art & Soul are partnering up with The Art of Banksy to offer up some tips to help you combat the January blues.

Look after yourself this Blue Monday...

Go for a walk

It's been proven that exercising and exploring nature can do wonders for our mental health. If you aren’t ready to go outside though, bring the outside in by adding plants or plastering nature scenes in pictures across your home.

Spend time with loved ones

Reach out to friends, family, or colleagues. Share your feelings and let them know they're not alone. Alternatively, if you don’t feel like you have someone to talk to, Samaritans is available on 116 123.

Practice self care

Engage in activities that bring you joy and relaxation. Take a warm bath, read a book, practice mindfulness, or listen to calming music. It's easy to forget to take time to prioritise yourself, so focus on doing whatever makes you happy.

Get creative!

Whether it's painting, writing, drawing, or any other form of artistic expression, creativity allows you to channel your thoughts and emotions in a positive way. You don't need to be an expert; enjoy the process, not the outcome.

Art & Soul x The Art Of Banksy

On Blue Monday, in a nod to Banksy’s iconic Girl With Balloon artwork, Banksy fans can collect a blue heart balloon outside the exhibition on Regent Street that will offer entry to the smash hit exhibition for just £15 on the day.

20% of all Blue Monday ticket sales will be donated to Art & Soul, a South-West London based charity which provides a range of free therapeutic arts workshops and other creative activities for local people, to help improve their mental health.
